Looking for a peaceful, beautiful location where you can enjoy nature at its best?Nestled in the trees, down a cedar lined road, awaits White Owl Retreat, a charming renovated cabin. Time stands still in the beauty and serenity of these 5 peaceful acres on a hillside overlooking Lake Travis.
This beautiful, old cabin is best suited for 2 adults. However, one or two children could be accommodated with sleeping bags or an air mattress.
The owner is now caretaker to the property previously owned by her father who was the head athletic trainer for UT's football team and was also trainer for the U.S. Olympic track team. Her father's respect for the land was part of his Cherokee heritage which was passed on to his daughter.
The short path to the cabin was designed to encourage you to "stop and smell the roses" and appreciate the beauty of nature. Angels in the form of stones on either side of the path guide your footsteps up to the cabin.
The trail down to Lake Travis is a pleasant nature walk with a variety of plants, trees, flowers and wildlife. White Owl Retreat's property goes all the way to the lake and has waterfront on Lake Travis.
The nearby Trails End Homeowner's Park provides has a boat launch ramp and a fishing dock available to guests.
The spacious, covered back porch is a great spot to start and end your day. Rocking chairs provide the perfect place to relax and enjoy the lake breezes, and perhaps observe a deer and her fawn, or a rabbit or two. If you are really lucky, you might get a glimpse of a fox.
Inside the cabin, you will notice the cedar walls, posts and beams, and the stone fireplace. As you look around, you will recognize that a lot of love, care and work went into this cabin over the years. A cozy atmosphere seems to embrace you in this special place.

The clean, compact kitchen has a new stove, refrigerator and microwave. Dishes, utensils and pots and pans are all included. Bar stools provide seating for two. All you need to bring are your food and drinks.
The bed in the sleeping area has a new comfortable full size mattress.
There is a loft that can accommodate a sleeping bag for an extra guest. Guests can also sleep on the floor of the cabin and on the covered porch with sleeping bags and air mattresses.
The windows in the living area and the sleeping area look out toward the lake through the trees.
The patio area in front of the cabin provides space for a picnic or barbecuing. A picnic table is located near the cabin.
White Owl Retreat's five peaceful acres provide your own private area to observe nature. There is a fire pit for roasting marshmallows and telling stories around the campfire.
