Central Texas:
Lake LBJ is one of the largest normally constant level lakes in the United States, and is just over 21 miles long with a maximum width of 10,800 feet. Lake LBJ is perfect for sailing, boating, waterskiing, jetskiing, and all water related activities. Lake LBJ is one of the most popular lakes in Texas.
Located 55 miles northwest of Austin, Texas on Highway 29, Inks Lake is the next lake down the Colorado River from Lake Buchanan. It starts just a short distance from the base of Buchanan Dam. With a length of 4.2 miles and a width of 3,000 feet, Inks Lake is the shortest of the first four lakes but is also one of the prettiest.
Lake Buchanan is the second largest of the Highland Lakes in Central Texas with a length of 30 miles and a width at the widest point of just under 5 miles. Lake Buchanan has a shoreline of 124 miles.
Lake Marble Falls is the 4th lake in the Highland Lakes string of lakes on the Colorado River in the central Texas Hill Country. Lake Marble Falls is a normally constant level lake and is popular for boating, and waterskiing. It is 5.75 miles long and 1,080 feet wide in the widest area.
Lake Travis is one of 6 Highland Lakes in the chain of lakes on the Colorado River in central Texas. Lake Travis is the fifth lake down with Lake Austin on the south and Lake Marble Falls on the northwest of Lake Travis.
Canyon Lake is located on the Guadalupe River in Comal County, Texas. Canyon Lake has 80 miles of scenic shoreline and covers an 8,230 surface acre area. Canyon Lake is one of the deepest lakes in Texas with an average depth of 43 feet. You will find Canyon Lake located approximately half way between San Antonio and Austin, approximately 14 miles northeast of New Braunfels on FM 306 west from IH-35.
Near Dallas/FW:
Cedar Creek Lake is the fourth largest lake in Texas and is one of the most popular lakes for boating and fishing. Cedar Creek Lake has 320 miles of shoreline and is 18 miles long and 8.5 miles wide at the widest point which offers plenty of space for everyone. Cedar Creek Lake is conveniently located only 55 miles southeast of Dallas, Texas.
East Texas:
Lake Livingston has good fishing, boating and jetskiing and is conveniently located only about 80 miles north of Houston. Lake Livingston is 39 miles long with a shoreline of approximately 450 miles, making it the third largest lake in Texas. At its widest point Lake Livingston is approximately 7 miles wide.
Sam Rayburn Lake is a very popular fishing and boating lake located in east Texas about halfway between Beaumont and Longview, about 70 miles from each city.
Sam Rayburn Lake is approximately 79 miles long and is the largest reservoir completely in the state of Texas. Toledo Bend Lake on the Louisiana border is the only larger lake in Texas than San Rayburn Lake.
Galveston:
Galveston is one of Texas' most popular tourist places to visit. Galveston is on an island that is 32 miles long on the upper coast of Texas on the Gulf of Mexico. If you are looking for the perfect place to spend a weekend, a vacation or longer, Galveston Island has a lot to offer in the way of beach activity.
An ideal resort location, Galveston offers miles and miles of beaches, great lodging, wonderful seafood restaurants, shopping, and a semi-tropical climate. Located only 50 miles southeast of Houston, Galveston is an easy getaway for a day or a weekend.
Sabinal River:
The Sabinal River has crystal clear, spring-fed water from the springs in the Lost Pines area. Guests love swimming, kayaking, tubing and fishing in the beautiful water of the Sabinal River. Utopia got its name in the late 1800's from its climate at an elevation of 1,350 feet. Utopia and the surrounding area has a population of about 400 people. Utopia is a little over an hour drive west of San Antonio. Garner State Park and Lost Maples State Park are nearby.
